Philadelphia Community Cinema, a project of Independent Television Service (ITVS), local PBS station WHYY and Leeway grantee Sara Zia Ebrahimi (ACG ’09), is looking for interns for the Fall 2012 season. Three internships are available for those interested in video, photography or social media who are looking to build their resumes and increase their skills. Event Videographer
The Event Videographer will be responsible for documenting the panel or engagement activities at three evening Community Cinema screenings (September, October, and November), editing the video footage in highlighted clips of 1-5 minutes and compressing them for uploading to the web. Basic knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Compressor or comparable video editing and compression software required. Intern must have access to their own video equipment and software through school, a community program, or personal means. They must also be available for biweekly 1hr meetings with the program coordinator. Ideal for people looking to build their reel.
Event Photographer
The Event Photographer will be responsible for documenting the audience and panel or engagement activities at three evening Community Cinema screenings (September, October, and November), editing the photos, and uploading to the web. Intern must have access to their own photo camera and software through school, a community program, or personal means. They must also be available for biweekly 1hr meetings with the program coordinator. Ideal for people looking to build their event photography portfolio.
Social Media Intern
The social media intern will be responsible for attending three evening Community Cinema screenings (September, October, and November) and writing an engaging event reportback for the Community Cinema blog utilizing audience survey comments and short audience interviews. Additionally, the social media intern will assist the program coordinator in researching local news stories, organizations and writing short posts on each of the monthly films’ topic areas to post on the blog. They must also be available for weekly 1hr meetings with the program coordinator. Ideal for people looking to build their writing for social media portfolio.
