On August 23-25 from 1:00pm-5:pm, the Painted Bride Art Center (230 Vine Street) will present The Sketchbook Project, a traveling library of artists’ books created by thousands of people from across the globe. In the Project, participants sign up online to receive a blank sketchbook, then fill it with artwork and mail it back. The results are cataloged in the Brooklyn Art Library’s permanent collection, displayed online in the Digital Library, and exhibited at art spaces from coast to coast. This year’s traveling exhibition features nearly 7,500 sketchbooks from 88 countries.
