Yowei Shaw (ACG ’11, ACG ’10, ACG ’09) presents a special youth TV program this June with the help of Philly Youth Radio and PhillyCAM.
During this season of Philly Youth Radio, its students were asked to produce stories about their “sanctuaries,” their secret places to relax and recharge. After several intensive radio production workshops, it presented a series of these stories, entitled “Teen Sanctuaries,” along with a panel discussion with the youth radio apprentices at PhillyCAM in April, and with the help of PhillyCAM staff and volunteers, its second annual showcase has been edited and produced into a television show. PYR is pleased to announce that PhillyCAM will be featuring this show as a special next month.
This half-hour special will be airing every Friday at 7:00pm during the month of June. PhillyCAM can be seen on Comcast 66/966 & Verizon 29/30.
Viewers can expect to see PYR’s youth-produced audio stories coupled with photo slideshows of each student’s sanctuary. Please pass along this information to friends and interested parties! PYR enjoys sharing its work and thanks PhillyCAM for lending it a larger platform to do so.
