Mural Arts Program is looking for interns!

The Mural Arts Program is looking for motivated students to serve as interns beginning January 2012. They’ve got several exciting projects coming up in the new year, including The Roots Mural Project, Peace is a Haiku Song with Sonia Sanchez, and others, that all of our interns will work on. They are looking for a Photography Intern, Marketing Intern, and Graphic Design Intern. Dates: January 2012 – June 2012 (flexible on start date – 6 month commitment required). Hours: 20-25 hours per week (occasional weekend hours required). Interns will work with the marketing team to create materials that reflect Mural Arts’ brand.

Photography Intern Responsibilities:

  • Shoot photos that tell a story, capture the artistic work of our talented artists, and show the humanity of our work by capturing constituents engaging with our work
  • Manage all post production of images captured
  • Assist team in event production
  • Collaborate with graphic design and marketing interns in production of marketing vehicles

Graphic Design Intern Responsibilities:

  • Design print collateral including but not limited to: flyers, postcards, posters, brochures, signage, advertisements, logos, invitations, newsletters, etc.
  • A core project is working on Off the Wall, our bi-annual print newsletter
  • Delivering printer ready files to vendors
  • Manage aspects of mailings and distribution
  • Assist in promotional events

Marketing & Communications Intern Responsibilities:

  • Write blog entries, edit newsletter stories, manage e-blast details, create collateral content
  • Manage mailings and distribution
  • Assist in all promotional events
  • Work closely with graphic design intern to produce collateral materials
  • Coordinate research on how marketing campaigns perform
