NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Art and Art Professions announces upcoming open studios, info sessions, and Fall 2011 events. This Fall, join NYU at the Barney Building in New York City’s East Village for open studios, information sessions, visiting artist lectures, and exhibitions. The six-story Beaux Arts structure houses studios, galleries, and performance and lecture spaces, and is located at 34 Stuyvesant Street just east of Third Avenue at 9th Street. This event is free and open to the public. Their open house is on Saturday, November 19, 6:00-10:00pm. Visitors can expect to see studios, art installations, performances, screenings, functional art, and music, organized by students from the department’s M.F.A., B.F.A., and M.A. programs.
