Upcoming Performances by Fatimah Lorén

 

Fatimah Lorén (ACG ’10, LTA ’10) will be performing new music, poetry and storytelling in the upcoming show wResting: a blues genealogy, a root system lullaby on Saturday August 27th at 8pm. This outdoor performance will be held in the lot beside 623 S. 52nd Street and is free and open to the public. Subsequent performances will be held on Sunday August 28 at 1pm and 6:30pm at the Ethical Society of Philadelphia, 1906 Rittenhouse Square. A $10 donation is suggested. wResting is a blues genealogy, a root system lullaby is a summation of music, poetry, and storytelling following Fatimah Lorén’s trip to Alabama to research her genealogy and commune with elder relatives who were sharecroppers in the 1940′s as well as her enslaved ancestors who tilled the land decades prior.
