Pasión y Arte is a non-profit all-female Flamenco Company, founded in 2000. Hevia y Vaca describes the group as a “vehicle for social change. It is the way I share my vision for women and the way I express and expand on my personal power; and also in this way the power and role of women inside the Flamenco tradition and society.” Pasión y Arte was founded with the conviction that the highly stylized Flamenco art form is an ideal vessel to empower women, and is a vehicle to exemplify women’s physical strength and express their personal tragedies and triumphs. Their mission is to create works that will educate and stimulate the community with the versatility of the tradition while honoring a bold and aggressive stance for the women in Flamenco
